Allan Hsiao is an assistant professor of economics and public affairs. His research focuses on environmental and development economics broadly, with a particular focus on the causes and consequences of climate change. He is especially interested in the uneven global impacts of climate change, including how lower-income countries face disproportionate damages from warmer temperatures and more extreme weather events. Recent work has explored sea level rise and urban adaptation in Jakarta, Indonesia.
