Bio/Description

Gabriel Vecchi is a professor of geosciences and the director of the High Meadows Environmental Institute (HMEI) at Princeton University. His research focuses on climate science and extreme weather events, hurricanes, mechanisms of precipitation variability and change, ocean-atmosphere interaction, and detection and attribution. Vecchi is deputy director at the Cooperative Institute for Modeling the Earth System (CIMES), a collaboration between Princeton and the Geophysical Fluid Dynamics Laboratory.
