Bio/Description
Michael Celia is director of Princeton's High Meadows Environmental Institute (HMEI), the Theodora Shelton Pitney Professor of Environmental Studies, and professor of civil and environmental engineering at Princeton University. His research focus includes groundwater hydrology, the sequestration of carbon dioxide and measuring methane leakage from abandoned oil and gas wells. He has been involved with HMEI’s Carbon Mitigation Initiative since its inception in 2000. Celia is a member of the National Academy for Engineering.
